Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro: the new aesthetic features are becoming clearer

Every year, Google offers new features, as well as improvements to the technical sheet, on its new Pixel smartphones. However, recently, the firm has not made any major changes regarding the design. But the good news is that on the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, the company could finally offer important new aesthetic features, compared to previous models.

Google's next flagships won't be released for several months, but as usual, rumors and leaks are already numerous. And in fact, alleged renderings of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro are already circulating on the web, giving us a glimpse of the design that these two devices could have. The famous X account “ONLEAKS”, which is regularly relayed by the media, collaborated with the website MySmartPrice to reveal the design that the Pixel 9 Pro could have.

According to the published rendering, the Pixel 9 Pro would adopt the design with flat edges, with well rounded corners. Obviously, with this design, the Pixel 9 Pro could look a little more like the iPhone. Furthermore, Google would also have revised the design of the camera module on the back, which has become emblematic of the Pixel brand. Instead of the bar which extends over the entire width, Google has decided to place the photo sensors on a sort of oval-shaped island. Thus, we would have a back design quite close to the one we have on the Pixel Fold.

Almost the same thing for the Pixel 9

Otherwise, it is possible that Google has reduced the size of the Pixel 9 Pro's screen, dropping it from 6.7 inches to 6.5 inches. And as for the Pixel 9, the compact version of the Pixel 9 Pro, Google would love the same design. And the Pixel 8a ?

But before releasing the Pixel 9 series, Google should first release the Pixel 8a , the affordable version of the Pixel 8, this first half. And in fact, this one also recently leaked. More precisely, an alleged image of the Pixel 8a box is circulating on the web, and gives an overview of the design that Google's mid-range should have.

An important year for Google ?

In any case, 2024 will be an important year for Google which, after launching its Pixel brand in 2016, is starting to show good results. According to IDC figures, Google sold more than 10 million smartphones between October 2022 and October 2023, and despite the crisis, it showed double-digit growth.

This year, the firm also has a chance to increase its market share since, according to publications from IDC and Counterpoint Research, consumers around the world are increasingly interested in to high-end smartphones.
