Highway 50 is completely closed between routes 148 and 329, between Lachute and Mirabel, following collisions involving a tanker truck.

According to the Sûreté du Québec, at least two vehicles collided on the expressway around 6:15 a.m. this morning. This caused congestion upstream of the accident at Strong Creek.

A little later, the driver of a tanker truck traveling on the highway was unable to stop his vehicle when he saw the line of cars stopped due to the icy road.

The truck ended its race by hitting a car. The driver of the truck was seriously injured, but his life is not feared, according to police. Fortunately, no one else was injured.

Firefighters are on scene .
