  • iPhone 14(6.1″)
  • iPhone 14 Plus (6.7″)
  • iPhone 14 Pro (6.1″)

As we can see, the big differences between the Pro versions and the others are due to the chip, to the set of sensors, the casing materials and especially the screen (with or without the new Face ID punch and more advanced technologies).

The design changes, while remaining in continuity. We find the same general design with flat edges launched with the iPhone 12. Apple, however, makes one major modification. The iPhone 14 Pro is in fact entitled to a new Face ID system hidden in a double punch.

An element fully integrated into the iOS 16 interface. In addition, the iPhone 14 Pro/Max have a new set of photo sensors which make the footprint of the photo module on the back of the smartphone wider .

The chassis of the Pro models is made of Titanium, a stronger material than the aerospace steel used in current Pro models. The standard models always have an aluminum and glass chassis.

The Pro models benefit from real new features in terms of FaceID. Apple has managed to integrate the device under the screen. Which is now only marked with an elongated bubble followed by a round bubble on its right.

The elongated bubble allows the FaceID sensors to do their job, the sensor selfie is hidden on the right. What's interesting is that Apple engineers managed to integrate this new design feature into the iOS 16 interface.

Thus animations make it possible to better blend this element into the interface. While allowing some interaction when pressed for example to display more information.

Only the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models have a 120 Hz screen. This new screen comes from the latest Samsung technologies.

It is more energy efficient, renders colors better, adjusts brightness better, and above all allows you to adapt the refresh rate from 120 Hz to 1 Hz compared to 10 Hz minimum on the iPhone 13 Pro/Max. The iPhone Pros are also entitled to Always-On mode.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, however, inherit the same 60Hz AMOLED screen as the iPhone 13. They also do not benefit from the new Face ID system hidden in punches, nor Always-On functionality.

All 2022 iPhone Pros benefit from a new 48 MP wide-angle photo sensor with sets of 7 lenses instead of 6.

This allows, among other things, smartphones to take advantage of pixel binning: in other words to create, for example, 12 Mp photos by aggregating information taken from surrounding pixels – which generates brighter images with much more balanced colors even in terrible conditions.

Pixel binning is triggered as soon as the brightness or conditions deteriorate to always deliver shots more breathtaking. And to this is added the new Photonic Engine which pushes computational photography further to deliver images between 2 and 2.5 times better in low light conditions.

All iPhones have a new Action Mode that allows you to render stabilized videos like a gimbal. Additionally, the selfie sensor has been improved on all models – enough to deliver more beautiful portrait photos. The flash has also been improved on the Pro models.

We know that all iPhone 14 Pros will integrate the Qualcomm X65 5G modem. However, this very fast modem, which can deliver up to 10 Gbit/s of bandwidth, also has a new functionality: it can send data via satellite when the smartphone cannot find any other network.

Apple reserves the functionality for emergency situations while letting users share their satellite location whenever necessary via the Find My app.

The iPhone 14s are ditching SIM cards altogether in favor of eSIM… but only in the United States for the moment. Apple has introduced the eSIM system on the iPhone X.

Removing the drawer has several advantages for the manufacturer. This simplifies manufacturing and frees up space in the casing. This makes the smartphone more waterproof (a label detecting water damage is always placed in this alcove) and therefore more durable.

Finally, selecting an operator will come down to to turn on a smartphone, go to the operator's page, subscribe, then download the SIM card. The transition to all eSIM will therefore also be more practical for users.

But in France, to experience it, we will undoubtedly have to wait for the arrival of the next generation.< /p>
