M3: the technical sheets on the run before tonight's announcement

During the Scary Fast event, Apple is expected to unveil no less than three computer chips. Mark Gurman, accustomed to these kinds of rumors and with an excellent reliability history, thinks he knows part of their technical sheet. For the Bloomberg journalist, the basic version of the M3 would thus be entitled to an eight-core CPU, coupled with a ten-core graphics card. With this, there would be a first M3 Pro with a twelve-core CPU for eighteen GPU cores, as well as a second version with fourteen and twenty cores respectively under the hood.

The M3 Max, for its part, would be entitled to no less than sixteen cores for the processor, against thirty-two or forty for the images – a choice. Here is what you need to remember, for the most part from these future motherboards in any case. This, of course, without mentioning the almost obvious presence of the Neural Engine. It is an engine powered by artificial intelligence, capable of carrying out billions of operations per second.

Three laptops on the way?

During the conference, Apple will undoubtedly also present the different computers that will be powered by these chips. Starting, perhaps, with a new 14-inch MacBook Air – equipped with the M3 processor. The amount of RAM remains to be defined, with customization possible when ordering but not afterwards.

The M3 Pro and M3 Max, for their part, will be more dedicated to the 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro. These models are therefore much more powerful, but also more expensive: it will certainly cost more than two thousand euros, even for the smallest. The 13-inch MacBook Pro, with M2 chip and the latest representative of the Touch Bar, could also be withdrawn from shelves at the same time. But again, only the Apple company will be able to confirm it on the big day.

iMac and Magic Mouse

With this, it is rumored that Apple is also preparing a new iMac. The all-in-one would be larger than the edition available in stores today. The Cupertino addresses should then make it possible to purchase two products of different sizes, as before. This was in fact already the case with the Intel iMacs (21 and 27 inches).

Finally, note that additional rumors suggest that Apple is preparing a third generation of the Magic Mouse. This new wireless mouse could reveal many new strengths. First of all, regarding the design, finally with the possibility of recharging the accessory while using it. With this, the manufacturer would have finally taken care of ergonomics: professionals concerned about their wrist will perhaps no longer have to purchase from the competition. Finally, the Magic Mouse 3 would be powered by a USB-C socket – in place of the current Lightning connection.

The second generation AirPods Pro have already had this plug change, as recently as last September. And now iPads and iPhones also charge this way.
