Liberal MP Marwah Rizqy, whom many saw as an aspiring leader of her party, has finally realized one of her personal projects: she is pregnant with a second child.

Ms. Rizqy had announced her pregnancy in an interview with Le Journal de Québec, and she confirmed it Wednesday morning on the X network.

The MP shared the article and wanted to give a message of hope to all women who, like her, are going through difficulties in conceiving a child.

“Your family plan is more than legitimate. The journey can be trying and I wish you with all (heart) to hold on to your little happiness before long,” she wrote.

She also thanked her medical team.

As with her first baby, Gabriel, who is 14 months old, Ms. Rizqy had to go to a fertility clinic for this second pregnancy.

According to Le Journal de Québec, she is expecting her second child at the end of June. Marwah Rizqy is married to her colleague, the Liberal MP for Jacques-Cartier, Gregory Kelley.

This news seems to put an end to his thoughts on the next race for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ). In recent months, the member for Saint-Laurent admitted that she was “torn” about running, but she finally closed the door in September.

“I can’t run for leadership,” she said during a press briefing. At this point, this is not possible. I can't. »

In an interview with the Quebecor daily, however, she did not rule out running for the leadership of her party when her children are older.

Currently, candidates are not rushing to the gate to present themselves in the race for the leadership of the PLQ. The latest news was that the Liberal MP for Marguerite-Bourgeoys, Frédéric Beauchemin, and the federal Liberal MP Joël Lightbound were in reflection.
