Trouble in the legal sector: Radio-Canada has learned that renowned lawyer Brian Greenspan will file a motion Wednesday morning in the Superior Court of the #x27;Ontario to withdraw from Peter Nygard's case while the sentencing hearing has not yet taken place, since the guilty verdict.

The disgraced Canadian fashion mogul was found guilty in November of raping four women following his first trial criminal in Canada.

His lawyer, Brian Greenspan, already notified a Manitoba court last Friday that he will not represent his client during his second criminal trial for sexual assault.

According to court documents cited by the Winnipeg Free Press, Mr. Greenspan s& #x27;is withdrawn from Peter Nygard's criminal trial, explaining to the judge that he could no longer represent his client for ethical reasons.

The Toronto lawyer told the Manitoba judge it was the first time in his 50-year career that he had asked to withdraw from a case.

There has been an irreconcilable rupture in the lawyer- client, he declared.

But in another twist, Radio-Canada learned Tuesday evening that Mr. Greenspan was going to present the same motion tomorrow morning before the Ontario Superior Court regarding the first criminal trial.

Peter Nygard was already scheduled to return to court Wednesday to find out the date of his sentencing hearing.

But according to a judicial source familiar with the matter, Mr. Greenspan will instead submit the same request as the one he submitted in Manitoba. His request will be discussed with the Crown.

Peter Nygard was charged in July with sexual assault and forcible confinement in Manitoba for alleged acts dating back to November 1993, at the head office of his former company in Winnipeg.

Unlike the Manitoba case, the Ontario case is more problematic, since it is rare for a lawyer to withdraw from a trial shortly before the trial begins. ;#x27;determination hearing begins.

Peter Nygard faces maximum 10 years in prison in Ontario for the rape of the four women, which occurred in his former Toronto fashion studio from 1986 to 2005.
