A pedestrian was injured in the head on Friday night, in the north of Montreal, when she was hit at an intersection by a car whose driver fled.

The driver was caught a little closer late, a few kilometers from the scene of the incident.

According to several communications transmitted to the telephone exchange of ;#x27;emergency 911, the impact occurred around 4 a.m. at the intersection of Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Beaubien Street, in the Little Italy sector.

The 28 year old lady was reportedly caught around 4 a.m. at the intersection of Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Beaubien Street, in the Little Italy sector.

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reported that the 28-year-old woman was conscious when she was transported to the hospital. But at the end of the night, he was unaware of the seriousness of his state of health.

Witnesses told the police that after the incident, they saw the driver's vehicle heading north on Saint-Laurent Boulevard. A few minutes later, the driver swerved onto the Boulevard de l'Acadie ramp leading to Highway 40 westbound.

The driver, a 23-year-old man, was then arrested and taken by the police to an investigation center to undergo an alcohol test.< /p>

Security perimeters were established by the police at the scene of the hit-and-run and at the location where the ;#x27;swerve occurred in order to continue the investigation.
