Finance Minister Eric Girard announced Thursday that the next budget will be tabled on March 12 in Quebec.
Last Sunday, Prime Minister François Legault repeated that the deficit in the next budget will be larger than expected due to more generous salary increases offered to public sector employees as part of the renewal of their collective agreements. He then defended himself.
At the beginning of the week, Mr. Girard explained that the economy was slowing down and that Hydro-Québec's revenues were lower than expected.
