According to initial information, a or suspects allegedly smashed a window at the rear of the building and subsequently an incendiary object was thrown inside. An incendiary object was found on the scene, said agent Caroline Chèvrefils, spokesperson for the SPVM. The fire was quickly brought under control by firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department (SIM), and the damage was minimal. There were no injuries, as no one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
