Six Canadians have died in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, according to the most recent report from Global Affairs Canada on Thursday. The death of another person “with close ties to Canada” was also reported.
The death toll was clarified by Global Affairs Canada on Thursday. However, the identity of the most recent victim has not been revealed for confidentiality reasons. Two other Canadians are still missing, the same number as the last update.
“Global Affairs Canada is providing support to seven Canadian families of those who died during the current conflict, as well as to the families of two missing Canadians,” the organization said in a press release on Thursday.
There currently has more than 5,765 citizens registered on the List of Canadians Abroad in Israel, 451 Canadians registered in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and 17,135 in Lebanon.
