Squid Game: why making season 2 is a huge challenge< /p> Squid Game © Netflix

It's an understatement to say that season 1 of Squid Game was a huge hit on Netflix. The sequel is highly anticipated by fans, and it has already been made official by Netflix. However, we know that we will have to be patient before this season 2 and there are very good reasons for that.

Lee Byung-hun, one of the stars of the production, has elsewhere makes an important revelation about this original creation. Speaking to South Korean media, the actor explained: “The series was created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, and we are very close to each other. He had not planned to give a sequel to Squid Game.”

Season 2 of Squid Game is on track

He adds  :

After finishing Squid Game we went to dinner. During the meal, I asked him what it felt like to manage this kind of production. He replied: 'I lost six teeth because of stress. I will never do a TV series again. But it was the global success of the series that prompted him to make a sequel.

During this same interview which took place during the summer , Lee Byung-hun took the opportunity to tease this season 2. He says that the showrunner is a genius: “Creating something from nothing, that's what it was. Squid Game was a series that originally wasn't going to have a second season, so the storyline surprised me even more..

As a reminder, the star actor of Squid Game, Lee Jung-jae, has already spoken about the story of season 2. He explained thus: “As we all saw in the end of season 1, the main plot of season 2 will be revenge, and the key character who controlled the operation of the games in season 1 was Lee Byung Hun, so it seems that the two of us will be the central characters in this next story.”

As for the casting, we will find Lee Byung-hun alongside him who plays the Masked Man. We also know that Gong Yoo, the recruiter of candidates for the Squid Game, will indeed be there. Finally, the presence of Wi Ha-jun, who plays the undercover police officer, is strongly anticipated, but it is not yet official.

For your part, are you (like us) impatiently awaiting this sequel to Squid Game? Feel free to give your point of view in the comments.
