The 420,000 union members of the Common Front in health, social services and education will walk off the job from December 8 to 14 to increase pressure on the government.
Representatives of the CSN, the CSQ, the APTS and the FTQ will hold a press briefing this morning at 11 a.m. in Montreal to take stock of the state of the negotiations.
For a week, a conciliator mandated by Quebec has been trying to bring the management and union parties together. Prime Minister François Legault committed Thursday to improving the salary offers made to public sector union members in exchange for concessions on the organization of their work.
Recall that the 66,500 teachers of the Autonomous Federation of Education (FAE) are currently on an indefinite general strike. Schools are closed for an indefinite period in Montreal.
