Equipped with an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor based on the Zen 4 architecture, engraved in 4 nm, with 8 cores and 16 threads, and a graphics computing power of up to 8, 6 teraflops it has an AMD Radeon graphics card based on the RDNA 3 architecture. Everything is associated with 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM.
For connectivity, the console includes a USB-C port, a UHS-II microSD slot, and a 3.5mm combo mini-jack headphone jack. It is also compatible with the ASUS ROG XG Mobile external GPU via the USB-C port.
With Windows 11 integration, ROG Ally offers broad compatibility with various games and gaming platforms. It can run triple AAA games at 1080P with framerates of up to ;high frames, and is compatible with gaming services like Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
The console is quieter than competitors, like the Steam Deck, with fan noise of just 20 dB. It also received a firmware update that improved its performance by 20% in some games, allowing it to reach 60 FPS in Red Dead Redemption 2 at 720p.
Price and availability of the ROG Ally
The ROG Ally is offered in two versions: the most muscular is sold at a price of 650 euros. A 500 euro model is also available, but its technical characteristics are less impressive. It's up to you to see what the best balance is based on your needs.
