Tesla Powerwall 3 chargers are finally arriving, but France is not yet affected

Presented at the start of the school year, Tesla's Power Wall 3 promises to be stronger than ever. Already available in the United States, you will however need to show a little patience to take advantage of this latest generation domestic battery to recharge your Model 3 or your Model Y!

What's new for Power Wall 3?

We should not expect a revolution for this new generation. In terms of design, Tesla took no risks and took over that of the previous one, but the Power Wall 3 has undergone a little slimming down. It is 14 cm narrower and 5 cm lower. The storage capacity of 13.5 kWh has not changed compared to its predecessor.

On the other hand, it will be more efficient, its continuous power has more than doubled compared to the old one, since it goes to 11.5 kW. Enough to simultaneously power a wide range of energy-intensive appliances (oven, dishwasher, water heater, etc.) and that's rather good news.

Solar energy management is much better thought out:the solar inverter is directly integrated into the box, which was not the case with the old generation. In terms of capacity, it supports up to 20 kW of photovoltaic energy.

In terms of waterproofing there is also progress, the connectivity is stamped with IPX5 certification and the electronic equipment and the battery IPX7.

A still restricted deployment

The geographical area where the Power Wall 3 is officially available via the official Tesla website is quite restricted. Only residents of the United States are eligible for this at this time. Even Canada is not yet affected by the launch, like Mexico and, very logically, Europe.

We will therefore have to wait, with no official release date for the Old Continent. In terms of price, little change compared to the second generation since this model is sold for 8 400 dollars alone. This price (excluding tax) does not include installation (between 1 100 and 3 300 euros) and state aid.

It is a shame that no date was given for France, because the device designed by Tesla is really ingenious and very practical< /strong>to resell green energy produced at home to energy suppliers. Savings on electricity bills, depending on usage, can reach up to several thousand euros per year. Brand Brownies, a videographer from the YouTube platform had also demonstrated in this video how he managed to no longer pay electricity for one year in part thanks to the Power Wall 2.

  • The Tesla Power Wall 3 is now available.
  • It has the same storage capacity of the old generation, but double the continuous power.
  • For the At this time, it is only available in the United States.
