The Nîmes Métropole urban community is offering composting facilities starting Tuesday, December 10.

This Tuesday, December 10, the Agglo Nîmes Métropole will launch the first shared composting site on public property in Nîmes.

Residents of the Gambetta district are invited to go to the user reception area at 8 rue Régale to collect their bio-bucket free of charge, upon presentation of proof of address and a shared composting guide. This first site is located on rue Graverol. “Today, nearly 30% of household waste can be diverted from incineration thanks to sorting at source, to be recovered in composting. More sorting means less TEOM tax”, specifies the president of the Agglo Franck Proust.

The site was inaugurated this Friday. In 2025, the distribution of composters and worm composters will be implemented. The Agglo is dedicating more than €2 million to the deployment of the 100% composting Territory program. Bin shelters will allow users to no longer put their bags on the ground and to separate them 24 hours a day.
