The list of the 11 most anticipated games of 2024

© Ubisoft

Will the year 2024 be decisive in the history of video games ? The year has barely started, and 11 titles that will need to be closely followed have already been announced. Rumors also mention the imminent arrival of Nintendo's next console, which would obviously breathe new life into the industry, with the Switch celebrating its 7th birthday next March. Let's dive straight into the list of titles to absolutely follow this year:

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC – January 18)

Subscribe to Lemon Squeezer

This year, Ubisoft is launching hostilities with the very upcoming release of the new Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Available on all platforms, the title returns to the origins of the license by offering an opus in profile view, all with powers linked to time, but also a new character to discover from January 18.

Skull and Bones (PS5, Xbox Series loading=”lazy” title=”Skull and Bones: The Game Awards Trailer” width=”500″ height=”281″ src=”about:blank” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share” allowfullscreen data-rocket-lazyload=”fitvidscompatible” src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/aJy3FXGb6ok?feature=oembed”>

So, this time it's the right one? Ubi has been postponing the release of Skull and Bones for literally years, 5 years to be exact. The action adventure game is largely inspired by the pirate-themed gameplay of Assassin’s Creed 4. This one will let you live the life of a pirate as you try to climb the ranks, going from a simple freshwater sailor to the most fearsome captain.

Princess Peach: Showtime! (Nintendo Switch – March 22)

This is the Nintendo title that will celebrate the 7th anniversary of the Nintendo Switch! While the Princess had the right to a game where she was the main protagonist on DS, Peach returned 17 years later to be the star. No question of a princess to be saved by a little mustachioed plumber here, Princess Peach takes the lead in a title where she will decide to save a play accompanied by Stella. To do this, she can take different forms such as Peach swordsman, detective or Kung Fu master. This allows for great moments in the company of the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Rise of the Ronin (PS5 – March 22)

Developed by Team Ninja, the studio behind Nioh returns with an epic open world that is the next exclusive to PS5. Fans of Ghost of Tsushima will appreciate it, as its name suggests, this one puts us in the shoes of a Ronin at the end of the 19th century during the Edo period. The title promises anthology fights, and will be released on March 22, at the same time as Princess Peach: Showtime!

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD (Nintendo Switch & #8211; Summer)

Remember in 2013, the second iteration of Luigi’s Mansion called Dark Moon was released on 3DS. If some players were disappointed not to see this one arrive on a home console, this will soon be done with the arrival of an HD version on Nintendo Switch. Although no precise release date has been given, we still know that this HD version will arrive this summer. A must-have for fans of the plumber in the green cap.

Hades 2 (PC – Early access in the second quarter)

Even if it won't be released exactly in 2024, it will still be available in early access in the second quarter of this year. Knowing that the first Hades was as much praised by critics as by players, it notably winning the title of best indie game of the year 2020 at the time of its release, suffice to say that this sequel is highly anticipated by players fans of the first title. Hades was many players' introduction to rogue like, and offers an exceptional story, music and overall gaming experience.

Anger Foot (PC &# 8211; 2024)

Let's stay in the field of indie games with the astonishing Anger Foot, an FPS published by Devolver (Heave Ho, My Friend Pedro, Gris, Hotline Miami). Like Hotline Miami but without the isometric view, this indie action game takes its name from the ability to deliver a destructive kick as well as use weapons to defeat gangsters in a colorful, cartoonish atmosphere .

Concord (PC, PS5 – 2024)

From PlayStation studios, Sony has given very little information regarding this new title which will be released in 2024. However, you will have to keep an eye on this multiplayer FPS which will be released on PS5 but also on PC, the announcement video of which is damn intriguing . IF the title is released simultaneously on PS5 but also on PC, Sony must have big ambitions for this title developed by former Bungie employees.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series RING – Story Trailer” width=”500″ height=”281″ src=”about:blank” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share” allowfullscreen data-rocket-lazyload=”fitvidscompatible” src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/K_03kFqWfqs?feature=oembed”>

If we didn't count this one in the list of the most anticipated games, it's because Shadow of the Erdtree is the next expansion for the Elden Ring game. But Elden Ring having been the Game of the Year of 2022 having received a lot of awards, it seems obvious that the next expansion of the title is awaited by all followers of the Circle of Elden.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II (PC, Xbox Series =”Senua's Saga: Hellblade II – Gameplay reveal” width=”500″ height=”281″ src=”about:blank” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted -media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share” allowfullscreen data-rocket-lazyload=”fitvidscompatible” src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/fukYzbthEVU?feature=oembed”>

The first Hallblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is one of the best exclusives available on PC and Xbox, presenting the story of a character suffering from psychosis. A bias towards an obviously original game. Although we do not have a specific release date and details about the title are rare, we still hope that this sequel will offer a story just as gripping as that of the first opus.

Paper Mario: The Millennium Door (Nintendo Switch – 2024)

The Millennium Door is the most popular Paper Mario in the series. Released on GameCube in 2004, the RPG is back on Nintendo Switch with improved graphics this year. Excellent news for fans of the series, but also for players who will have the chance to discover the title for the first time in this improved version.

Star Wars Outlaws (PC, PS5, Xbox Series Premiere Trailer” width=”500″ height=”281″ src=”about:blank” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web- share” allowfullscreen data-rocket-lazyload=”fitvidscompatible” src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/ymcpwq1ltQc?start=1&feature=oembed”>

Taking place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, this Star Wars open world developed by Ubisoft will put us in the shoes of Kay Vess, accompanied by her companion Nix. There is no question of playing a Jedi here, it will rather be a question of carrying out missions for the largest criminal organizations in the galaxy. Expectations are very high for the title, and we hope it lives up to it.
