The president and co-founder of the Sutton Quebec group, Christophe Folla, is accused of having ordered arson attacks targeting real estate broker offices in competition with his agency.
Christophe Folla, 70, faces justice with two other defendants, Benjamin Amar and Alain Marc Nahmias.
Charges of arson and conspiracy to commit an indictable offense have been filed against them. According to the act of denunciation filed at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse, the arson attacks in question were allegedly set between September 1, 2017 and November 15, 2022.
Sûreté du Québec investigators believe the group was involved in at least five arson attacks that targeted offices belonging to brokers working under the Royal banner Lepage in Sainte-Thérèse and Saint-Sauveur, in the Laurentians.
According to the Quebec Business Registry, Christophe Folla is still the president of the Sutton Québec group, which brings together more than 20 franchisees and more than 1,500 real estate brokers.

The real estate sales agency is one of the largest in the province , with nearly 22,000 transactions annually, according to its website.
Christophe Folla must appear Thursday morning at the Palais de justice of Saint-Jérôme. If found guilty at the end of his trial, he faces a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison.
The Sutton Québec group had still not reacted to the arrest of its president when this article was published.
