Nvidia ACE, the AI to the rescue of NPCs!

At the start of the year, Nvidia allowed us to get very close to this new technological development, Avatar Cloud Engine (ACE). As promised, the latter aims to bring NPCs to life, who then become aware of their environment, benefit from a real story, and with whom it is possible to interact more naturally.

With its new demonstration, Nvidia intends to convince more and more players of the potential of its new technology. This happens today through Covert Protocol, a technological demo created to highlight the brand's new Ace tool.

Here we play as an agent investigating in the lobby of a hotel to obtain the room number of a suspect. To do this, you must interact with three characters, who will adapt their responses and behaviors depending on the player's actions. Characters also adapt the tone of their responses, and remember previous interactions.

Last January, we mentioned the fact that certain studios, such as Ubisoft and Tencent, were already working with Nvidia Ace to take their games to the next level of interaction. It is easy to imagine the benefits of such AI on certain types of games, which require numerous interactions, such as Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, Deus EX, Hitman, Baldur's Gate…

It now remains to be seen which will be the first games that will take advantage of this new technology from Nvidia.

Note that video games would not be the only market to benefit from the benefits of Nvidia Ace, since the technology could also be suitable for certain customer services, but also with regard to videoconferencing, particularly with regard to time translation. real and speech synthesis.

We also mention the field of health, with the possibility of creating virtual assistants that are much more human than current chatbots, to answer certain basic questions.
