Five suspicious fires were lit in the space of a few hours during the night from Thursday to Friday in Saint-Georges, in Beauce. These blazes are in addition to the two suspicious fires from the day before which the Sûreté du Québec is investigating.

The five small fires were allegedly lit between 10:30 p.m. and 2 a.m.

These are exterior fires, notes Sergeant Jean-Raphaël Drolet of the SQ. They mainly affect galleries, garbage bins, in particular.

The targeted locations are all located in the heart of the municipality of Chaudière-Appalaches.

Two lights were lit on 1st Avenue, the other locations are on 2nd Avenue, Avenue Bernier and 17th Street.

The fires were all put out, no one was injured in connection with these events. No suspect has yet been arrested by the police.

The SQ stresses that there would be no link between this recent series of fires and those of the day before, or those perpetrated in Donnacona earlier this week. An investigation is underway.
