We have bad news for users of these 5 Samsung smartphones

© presse-citron.net

At the start of the year, Samsung hit big by presenting the Galaxy S24 series, as well as new features based on artificial intelligence called Galaxy AI. And instead of reserving these features for its new devices, Samsung has delighted its customers by offering them, via an update, on certain older models.

First of all, Samsung deployed its new AI features, via the One UI 6.1 update, on its high-end 2023 products: the Galaxy S23 series, the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, as well as tablets. Galaxy Tab S9. Recently, Galaxy AI has also arrived on older, 2022 models, including the Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Fold4, and Galaxy Z Flip4.

Unfortunately, if you still use a 2021 Samsung flagship, you will have almost none of Samsung's new Galaxy AI features. Indeed, according to an article on the 9to5Google site, Samsung has also started deploying the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S21 series and the Galaxy Z Flip3. But the list of new AI features, for these devices, would only include the circle to search functionality. And that's it!

An exception for the Galaxy Z Fold3 ?

So, the Galaxy S23, the Galaxy S23 Plus, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the Galaxy S23 FE and the Galaxy Z Flip3 would only benefit from the new feature which allows you to do a Google search by circling an element on the screen. Features such as Samsung's new translation system, article summaries on the browser, or even the reformulation of text messages, would be absent.

Samsung would nevertheless have made a exception for one of its 2021 flagships: the Galaxy Z Fold3. In any case, that’s what the Sammobile site says. And this could be explained by the fact that unlike other Samsung flagships released the same year, this model has a 12 GB RAM memory, which would allow it to support other new AI features.

In any case, the manufacturer shows its desire to offer its Galaxy AI functionalities to as many users as possible, instead of reserving them for the most recent models.

  • After unveiling Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S24, Samsung is updating its older models so that they also benefit from this new feature based on artificial intelligence
  • Unfortunately, users of the Galaxy S21 series models and Galaxy Z Flip3, released in 2021, will have almost no new AI
  • It seems that this is due to limitations hardware
