The Warner Bros. streaming platform. will have taken his time before arriving in France. After a discreet launch in a few European countries almost two years ago, MAX will be available in France from June 11, 2024. This is great news for anyone who wants to enjoy HBO and Warner Bros. content.

Does Max arrive too late?? Will the platform succeed in finding a place for itself against many streaming platforms already well established in the French landscape?? And above all, that will become the Warner Pass on Prime Video ?

Goodbye Warner Pass, hello MAX ?

HBO-branded programs are generally extremely high quality. We can cite Euphoria, Succession, House of the Dragon (season 2 of which is coming very soon), The Last of Us, Westworld, The Sopranos, I May Destroy You or The White Lotus. But recently, HBO series have experienced a real obstacle course in France.

For a long time, they were found on OCS the day after their broadcast in the United States. But when the contract between OCS and HBO comes to an end in December 2022, it’s a disaster. The suspense is at its height, no one knows who will take over the baby, rumors are rife… Prime Video arrives as a savior and announces an exclusive partnership with Warner Bros. and the launch of the Warner Pass. For 9.99 euros per month, subscribers can access the catalog of films and series from Warner Bros. Discovery, including the HBO series.

The Warner Pass therefore arrived in a hurry to satisfy French spectators. What to save the furniture… But the Warner Pass is not without its flaws. Many users criticize it in particular for a lack of exclusive new features. So, the Warner Pass was not a temporary solution. Make way for MAX. This new platform will be accessible from June 11 on CANAL+. As is already the case for Apple TV+.

With MAX, French spectators will have access to HBO programs but also to the entire Paris 2024 Olympic Games live via Eurosport. The difficulty for MAX will be to find a place in an already overcrowded market. There is no shortage of streaming platforms. They are more and more numerous, and weigh more and more on the budget of spectators. MAX will have to have enough weighty arguments to convince the French.
