A 29-year-old woman was arrested this week and faces several charges, including manslaughter, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run two years ago in La Ronge, in northern Saskatchewan.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in Saskatchewan said this week that an investigation by multiple police agencies and detachments led to the arrest of a 29-year-old woman at a home. La Ronge on Tuesday.
The case dates back to September 30, 2021. The RCMP were called around 3:30 a.m. this that day after receiving a report about an injured man in a parking lot on Francis-Robert Street in La Ronge, according to a police press release issued at the time.
At the scene, the police found a seriously injured 22-year-old man who was then transported to the hospital.
In an update Friday, RCMP said the man, originally from Sucker River, north of La Ronge, was later pronounced dead.
