Woman dies in suspicious fire in Quebec

A woman died Sunday in a fire at a residence in the Loretteville sector of Quebec. The Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) has opened an investigation since investigative elements suggest that the fire could be criminal in nature.

Witnesses called 911 around 2:30 a.m. after observing flames emerging from the basement of a duplex located on Johnny-Parent Boulevard.

On site, firefighters fought the flames, which made it possible to extricate the unconscious victim places. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
