After Fallout, Amazon Prime Video continues to ride the wave of adaptations of the great sagas of the video game industry. The streaming service has just formalized the broadcast of Like a Dragon, a six-episode series based on the Sega Yakuza Like a Dragon game franchise. It will be broadcast in two bursts of three episodes on the platform on October 25 and November 1.
What's it going to be about ?
According to Variety, this production will take place over two periods, 1995 and 2005, and follow the lives of two childhood friends and the consequences of the decisions of a formidable and peerless Yakuza warrior, endowed with a keen sense of justice, duty and humanity. If it is faithful to the original games, the series will take place in the fictional district of Kamurochō which is largely inspired by the notoriously violent Kabukichō area in Tokyo.
Amazon Prime Video announces that his fiction “presents modern Japan and the dramatic stories of these intense characters, such as the legendary Kazuma Kiryu, that the games of the past were not able to explore”. We will find Takeuchi Ryoma (Kamen Rider Drive) in the role of the hero.
Masaharu Take (100 Yen Love) directs. Quoted by the specialized media, he expresses his pride: “I’put all my heart, all my soul, and all the experience I've accumulated over 35 years into Like a Dragon : Yakuza” ;.

In many ways, this adaptation of the Yakuza franchise should be worth the detour. She is particularly known for her burlesque and WTF passages which represent a satire of Japanese society and its underbelly.
The saga can also count on its hero, Kazuma Kiryu, who left his mark on an entire generation of gamers. Very feared, the latter nevertheless has his own ethics and knows how to be extremely generous.
