Going to the movies is always a good idea. Like every weekend, we meet you to take stock of the new films which have reached cinemas across the four corners of France this week. If you have already seen Poor Creatures or Priscilla, rest assured, the cinematographic news of this week is extremely rich. And that’s so much the better!

Starring Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickison and Stanley Simons, Iron Clawis the film that seems to have everyone in agreement this week. Indeed, this masterful biopic is currently rated 4 out of 5 by the press and AlloCiné spectators.

Iron Claw immerses us in the hectic life of the inseparable Von Erich brothers, kings of professional wrestling in the early 80s. The siblings are led with an iron fist by the tyrannical father, which pushes the brothers to stick together and give the best of themselves in the ring as well as in life. They will be at the origin of the popularization of the Iron Claw hold, namely the submission hold. Screenplay, direction, acting… Iron Claw is a success on every point. Watch now.

If you are looking for a lighter program, it is in your best interest to set your sights on Everything But You. In this romantic comedy, Bea and Ben can't stand each other after a failed first date. Their paths cross during the wedding of Bea's sister in Australia. While the young woman's ex-boyfriend is also one of the guests and Ben has a crush on one of the guests, they have a genius idea: pretend to be a couple to save the appearances.

Everything but youstands out as a fresh romantic comedy, even if it does not revolutionize the genre. The chemistry between Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) and Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria ) allows the feature film to vibrate. The chemistry between the two actors has caused a lot of ink to flow over the last few months. Spectators give it a rating of 3.3 while the press is more severe with an average of 2.6. Despite everything, our colleagues from Figaro speak of a “comedy full of wit and humor”.

May December was presented in official competition during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and was unanimously acclaimed. Inspired by true events, the feature film focuses on the relationship of Gracie Atherton and Joe Yoo, a teacher and mother who fell in love with one of her fifth-grade students and eventually married him. Natalie Portman plays a famous actress who, to prepare for her new role, comes to meet the couple who ignited the tabloid press 20 years ago. The Natalie Portman/Julianne Moore tandem works wonderfully.

With May December, Todd Haynes (Far from Heaven ; I'm not there) wants to disturb the spectators. The press gives it an average rating of 3.7 out of 5, calling it a captivating and masterful drama.

Released on January 17, La Tête Froideis the film to catch up on this weekend. Here we are, immersed in the snowy Alps, in the middle of winter. Marie is 45 years old and struggles to make ends meet. With her lover Alex, a border policeman, she makes ends meet by trafficking cartons of cigarettes between France and Italy. But when she helps a young refugee, Souleymane, Marie finds herself caught in a vicious circle despite herself.

The Cold Head is the first feature-length fiction film by Stépharne Marchetti, who has until now specialized in documentaries. For the role of Marie, Florence Loiret Caille won the Best Actress Award at the 2023 Sarlat Film Festival. With a poignant and gripping plot, the film boasts remarkably good actors.
