An inanimate body was found in the rubble of a residence ravaged by fire Saturday morning in Saint Raymond, in Portneuf.

Emergency services were called around 6 a.m. to put out a fire that reportedly broke out in a residence on Rang Notre-Dame.

Upon arrival, emergency services discovered the body of a person at the scene.

At the time of writing, the victim's death had not been confirmed by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), her age or identity is also unknown.

An investigation will be opened on the police side.

The residence was ravaged by flames.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined determined.
