Apple has just announced the broadcast of a new keynote, scheduled for the night of October 30. You will have to get up early: the appointment is set for 1 a.m. (Parisian zone). For the moment, no precise indication concerning the content of the conference has been leaked. But according to the specialist analyst of the Apple firm Ming-Chi Kuo, Cupertino could unveil new laptops on this occasion.
At the same time, the third generation of Apple silicon chips would be also presented, with a trio of variations to start with: M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max.
MacBook Pro M3 (13-inch)
To begin with, Apple should, during the keynote, present the third 13-inch MacBook Pro model equipped with an in-house chip. This machine would be powered by the base version of the M3 chip, following the value proposition of its predecessor. The MacBook Pro M2 is still available in the Apple Store today, at a price of 1,299 euros. The price of the next version remains to be defined, but we know that the new iPhone 15s just released are more affordable than the iPhone 14s when they were released.
MacBook Pro M3 Pro/M3 Max (14 and 16-inch)
With this, Apple should undoubtedly renew the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the 16-inch MacBook Pro. These models would be more powerful, and could therefore feature the M3 Pro and M3 Max processors.
Today, 14-inch MacBook Pros and 16-inch MacBook Pros can come with up to 96 GB of RAM. For 8 TB of internal storage. The technical sheet of future models, for its part, remains to be defined. Apple should publish it on its official website during the keynote. Pre-orders, for their part, will probably begin the following Friday. But deliveries risk making customers wait.
Ming-Chi Kuo assumes that stocks are limited, at least until the first quarter of next year. Until very recently, the Taiwanese researcher assumed that the new Macs and the M3 chip would not see the light of day before 2024. But the announcement of the conference, made just ago a few hours, will have allowed the analyst to review his position.
New iPads?
Finally, let's remember that although an Apple Pencil comes just released, their manufacturer has not unveiled any new iPad in 2023. However, the Apple firm is more in the habit of revealing new generations of tablets to us every year.
The keynote of the October 30 could therefore be the opportunity for the brand to confirm this trend. Rumors suggest that iPad Pros with OLED panels are in the pipeline, but for next year again. On the other hand, other clues predict the arrival of a seventh generation iPad mini shortly. Finally, another tablet would be on the verge of succeeding the fifth generation iPad Air.
