Speech synthesis, based on artificial intelligence, makes it possible to generate spoken text from of a written text.

Last February, Radio-Canada published a vast investigation into Robert Miller, a Quebec billionaire who, for many years, paid to have sex with underage teenage girls, sometimes very young.

In the wake of its broadcast, many women contacted Enquête to testify about a similar experience they had experienced in the hands of the businessman. Among them was this young woman who we will call Annie.

By reading the report fromInvestigation, she said she recognized the man who had paid her for sexual services at the start of her adolescence. She was one of the first alleged victims to file a complaint against Robert Miller with the City of Montreal Police Department. No charges have yet been filed.

Two weeks ago, Investigationreceived a letter from Annie, addressed to Montreal billionaire Robert Miller. The one to whom she has not been able to speak until now, after having been omnipresent. She wants him, in turn, to know what her life was like.

The content of this letter is similar to several of the testimonies collected by Enquêteon what is now called the Miller affair. The experience described there is common to a large number of young women who are currently taking Robert Miller and his company, Future Electronics, to court. This is why we decided to publish it. The tone is direct.

Robert Miller's lawyer, Karim Renno, did not wish to react to the allegations contained in this text.

Hey Bob, I need to talk to you and me. I suspect that over the years, your memories of our many meetings have become blurred. Especially since I am just one among many.

We met at the turn of the year 2000, I was only fourteen years old. At that time, I was young, naive but above all vulnerable. I first saw you as a savior, the one who would put me out of my misery. Worse my misery, you quickly understood it by taking an interest in me. It's easy for an older man to take over and manipulate a young, vulnerable teenage girl when you show her interest, make promises and promise a better world. I never realized how these encounters would break me from the inside for years to come.

“I hid this pain and buried it for years and now it's over. »

You know, now I'm a woman in my early forties, with, yes, more knowledge about life, but I also have a lot of scars. I often tend to devalue myself and be angry with myself. I am ashamed, ashamed of having influenced friends to accompany me during our meetings. Looking back, I understand that this was part of the ploy, because in this way I believed I was becoming your accomplice in vice. However, I now know that I was manipulated into doing this and that it condemned me to silence.

This silence poisoned my life, it made me walk in the depths of the world. Yes, bars, drugs, sex, toxic relationships, self-loathing, loathing of men, fear of dying and even fear of living have inhabited me. I hid this pain and buried it for years and now it's over. I take back control of my life, you no longer have any influence.

I need to look into your eyes to tell you what you did to me, I also need to know that you see the pain in my eyes while I am hurting you. I will clearly explain the consequences of your actions in my life.

You may be infinitely rich and have become old, and we agree, you were already quite rich in my eyes a little over 20 years ago, that doesn't give the right to abuse, manipulate or take advantage of others and even less of minors.

By taking responsibility for your actions, you will allow us, your survivors, to begin our healing process. In the best of all worlds, the one in which I wish to live at least, you also repair your wrongs as far as possible towards your victims. I am ready to chat with you to help you understand the harm you have done, like at the time when you wanted me to help you speak in French. Signed Annie.

To date, more than 50 women have joined the class action against Robert Miller and the company he founded. The class action has not yet been authorized by the court, but three other individual suits have been filed against him. As for the police investigation into him, it is still ongoing.

Robert Miller and Future Electronics also contest all of the allegations against them . Robert Miller left the management of Future following the revelations in our report.
