Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat review: the robot vacuum cleaner that raises the temperature

Remember in September last year, we had the opportunity to test the Dreame L20 Ultra, the brand's most high-end model. If he had arguments to put forward, he had not completely convinced us.

Since then, the Chinese brand has decided to update its L10s with new technologies, notably hot water cleaning, all with a price below the symbolic bar of 1000 euros. Will the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat be more convincing ? Here is our test of the new robot vacuum cleaner.

Available since January 31, the Dream L10s Pro Ultra Heat is on sale for 999.99 euros on Amazon.

Probably bad luck as they say, but the unit we received had a defect when it came out of the box. Indeed, the ramp allowing the robot to return to its base was twisted and not aligned with the ground. Thus, it was impossible for him to return to his base in cleaning mode, which is of course rather restrictive.

Luckily, a few nights with big books on the ramp in plastic were enough to realign it, and thus be able to begin our tests. A rather unfortunate aspect when we see how carefully the rest of the machine has been designed.

Indeed, the robot itself has soft plastic which is reassuring in the fact that it should not damage the bottom of furniture. In addition, it has a more compact base than that of the L20 Ultra, which makes it easier to fit the device into small spaces.

After removing the robot from its packaging, the first contact is made through the Dreame-home application. It must be said that this seems to have improved significantly with the arrival of the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat.

Indeed, rapid mapping and cutting of parts have become exceptional, where previously it was necessary to manually rework the demarcation of parts. It will just be necessary to globally change the type of part which is not necessarily very well recognized.

This remains a considerable time and practical saving. Apart from this aspect, connecting to the robot vacuum cleaner is still just as simple, and can be done without any hassle in just a few minutes. So let's get to what's really interesting about the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat, its suction and cleaning capabilities.

With a suction power of 7,000 Pa, the suction of the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat is particularly effective, even on carpets. Of course, this requires accepting the noise made by the robot vacuum cleaner, which is not that disturbing.

In addition, it will always be possible to reserve powerful suction cycles for times when you are not at home, using the application's programming function for example.

Where the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat impressed us the most was in its washing capabilities. The big novelty of this new revision of the L10s is the possibility of washing in hot water, as indicated by the “Heat” in its name which is not a tribute to the Miami NBA team.

Helped by MopExtend technology which allows one of the two rotating mops to be extended, this allows you to perfectly shave the walls, thus allowing you to clean perfectly near the baseboards. Needless to say, once the robot has passed, the floors are immaculate.

We will regret its cleaning time which reaches 103 minutes for the ground floor of a 100m2 house with two carpets. Finding it rather strangely long, we carried out tests on the first floor. It's perhaps the presence of two carpets as well as the parquet floor which disturbs it, because when we tried it in a different configuration, the cleaning time was divided by 3.

Thus, we can only advise if you have a parquet floor to use personalized cleaning parameters instead. Indeed, the CleanGenuis which is supposed to focus on stubborn stains tends to consider the knots in the wood as being stains, emphasizing the spot unnecessarily.

Compared to the L20 Ultra which sometimes looked completely lost in its surroundings, the L10s' trajectory planning achieves better results here. We particularly appreciate that it carefully avoids walls and furniture, an aspect that was criticized for Roborock's Q Revo which ended up being marked with scratches around its edges. Here, although it cannot properly detect cables and certain objects placed on the floor, the robot is very good at positioning walls as well as furniture legs.

Because yes, there is a disturbing point about the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat, it is its obvious inability to detect objects less than 3 cm in front of it. During our tests, it never managed to detect our clump of cables and objects of all kinds located under the sofa.

So, the best idea was to define a no-go zone, otherwise the robot vacuum cleaner will take everything on its cleaning adventures.

The base of the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat not only has a clean water tray, a waste water tray, a dust bag, but also a detergent dispenser. Thus, the robot takes care of so many parameters that it will be rare to intervene on it.

Even better, Dreame offers a kit to automatically fill the tray clean water and empty the dirty water tank. Almost total autonomy of the robot, for which it will however be necessary to have access to a water inlet and outlet, like a dishwasher or a washing machine. laundry.

Available for a price 200 euros lower, the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat excited us more than the L20 Ultra. With its excellent suction and washing capabilities, there is no doubt that this is one of the best robot vacuum models available under 1000 euros.

It will be criticized for not always taking into account the small objects on its course, but apart from this aspect, the Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat is very high-end with cutting-edge technologies such as MopExtend, allowing ever more complete cleaning.
