Innovative in the household sector, Dreame has just pushed the automation of tasks even further with its new A1 mower that we tested here.

This time, the Chinese brand is back with a new proposal of robot vacuum cleaner with features offering “unlimited range for flawless cleanliness” in the words of the manufacturer. So let's see if the promise is kept here.

The common fault of robots vacuum cleaners are all about precision cleaning tasks in corners. Indeed, it is rather usual thatthese cannot reach difficult to access places such as flush with walls or right angles, due to their round shapes. This is a subject that Dreame has been working on for several years now with its most high-end models.

The first innovation was the MopExtend system, which, as its name suggests, allows the right mop to extend to clean places that are usually inaccessible. A concept that had already proven itself on the brand's L10s Pro Ultra Heat. However, before washing, it is still important that inaccessible parts are first vacuumed.

This is where a new feature comes in on the X40 Ultraconcerning the side brush used to force dust towards the central part of the vacuum cleaner. Also mounted on an extendable arm, we noted pronounced efficiency in the corners, previously neglected by robot vacuum cleaners lacking in agility. An excellent new feature which means you don't have to go over the corners after cleaning by the machine.

In addition, the X40 Ultra from Dreame is equipped with a suction power of 12,000 Pa which has proven particularly effective on our carpets, a point that sometimes leaves something to be desired with domestic robots. New here too, the central brush and the side brush can be raised by 10 mm during mopping, thus eliminating the risk of marking during household chores.

The champion of autonomy

Users with large homes are only too aware of the importance of battery autonomy Food Processor. Indeed, nothing is more frustrating when a full load is not enough to clean your entire home. In our testing, we asked the Dreame , using the brand's automatic CleanGenuis function.

After 81 minutes of use, the robot vacuum cleaner has only used 21% of its charge. For the purposes of the test, we launched this cleaning 3 times to see how extended this autonomy is. It is therefore easy to assume that it would be able to clean an area of 300 m2, without difficulty. Its autonomy therefore makes it an ideal companion for large areas.

Multiple passages for always-on accommodation cleaner

Not limited to the X40 Ultra, the application was still updated when it arrived, with a very practical functionality. It is now possible by choosing specific rooms or areas to carry out one, two or three washing cycles.

A particularly practical feature when combined with the automatic detection of a carpet area also offered by the Dreamehome application.

Automation down to the details

Robot vacuum cleaners are household objects created to save considerable time, as well as to avoid the trouble of cleaning floors. It would still be a shame to have to bother with additional tasks such as maintaining the device that is supposed to save us all chores: this is however what the basics of robot vacuum cleaners impose with regular cleaning of the receiving bin.

It was obviously not worthy of a machine at the price of 1500 euros to impose such a thing, Dreame therefore offers a solution where this famous bin is cleaned automatically, without having to take it out of its location to scrub it ourselves.

Our opinion on the Dreame X40 Ultra Complete

The Dreame X40 Ultra Complete is the pinnacle of the best in robot vacuum cleaners. With its new extendable arm, improved suction power and self-cleaning base, it brings welcome new features that help improve cleaning independently. However, we are of the opinion that these new features are too few in number to justify such a high price.

The Dreame L10s Pro that we previously tested represents, in our eyes, the best current value for money when it comes to high-end robot vacuum cleaners.

Remains thatwith its exceptional autonomy and its demands reduced maintenance, the Dreame X40 still represents the ideal partner for the wealthiest users. Also remember that this Ultra Complete version includes a whole set of accessories allowing complete, daily cleaning for at least a year.
