Echo (Disney+): everything you need to know about the Marvel series with Daredevil

It is with a slight start-up delay that the Marvel series Echo will debut on Disney+. Indeed, due to strikes in Hollywood, the series initially scheduled for November should be broadcast in January 2024.

However, the wait will be fully justified as this original creation is enticing on paper. We will be able to follow this character introduced in the series Hawkeye, but also other well-known figures such as Daredevil and Wilson Fisk.

What is the story of Echo?

Chronologically speaking, the series takes place after the events of Hawkeye. Marvel has just revealed the synopsis for the start of this production:

Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) struggles to reconnect with her Native American roots while reconciling her aspirations of a life of crime as the successor to the brutal legacy of Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) aka Kingpin. The first episode introduces us to Maya Lopez and her difficulties.

On a more global level, Marvel had already explained: “Echo's origin story returns to Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and understand the meaning of family and community if she wants to move forward.”

What casting for the Marvel series?

The casting has already been made official by Marvel and there is no secret of the return of Alaqua Cox in the role of Echo. Fans will also rejoice at the mention of Charlie Cox as Murdock/Daredevil. We had already had the pleasure of seeing him again in She-Hulk.

Vincent d’Onofrio also finds his character of the Caïd. Fans of the series, formerly broadcast on Netflix, should appreciate the potential reunion between these two antagonists.

At their side, a range of supporting roles confirmed in Hollywood: Chaske Spencer (Jessica Jones ) as Henry, Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon) as Chula, Graham Greene (American Gods) as of Skully, or even Cody Lightning (X-Files) as cousin Biscuits.

In the meantime, on the Marvel side, all eyes are on season 2 of < em>Loki which will be broadcast from October 6 on Disney+. Expectations are high as the first part of this series left its mark. You can also find our dedicated article here.
