The synopsis of Furies is quite brief. Here it is in full:

In search of revenge after the death of her father, a young woman finds herself caught in the web of the Fury, guardian of the shadows within crime organized in Paris.

This fury is embodied by Marina Foïs. And as we can see in the trailer, she is an essential link that prevents the six families of the Parisian underworld from tearing each other apart by intervening when a crime takes place among the criminals. A form of illegal policing, but one that helps avoid chaos.

Among the influences cited by those who had the chance to see the series, Kill Bill and John Wickare regularly named. Interviewed by our colleague from 20 Minutes, the screenwriters Jean-Yves Arnaud and Yoann Legave claim inspiration from major figures of French organized crime, but in a female version. They specify that they have drawn on the side of the Roman furies, the deities of vengeance and punishment.

A solid casting

In the main role of this series, we find Marina Foïs who needs no introduction. She is particularly known for her participations in Polisse, Darling, and As Bestas. At her side, we have a group of sure values and rising stars of the French seventh art: Lina el Arabi (Noces, Family Business), Mathieu Kassovitz (La Haine, The Bureau of Legends), Jérémy Nadeau (Cœurs Noirs), or even Quentin Faure (November, Deux Moi).

A very intense preparation

The least we can say is that the actresses and actors in this series did not not spared. The intense action scenes were tricky to shoot. Marina Foïs thus confided to Télé 7 Jours:

Honestly, it was hard work and we continued to train during filming. For me it was lighter than Lina El Arabi who had the main role and was in all the shots. But we had a period of two or three months during which we had 4 hours of physical training for stunts plus an hour of weight training or yoga. It was very interesting, because the body is at the center of the actor's work.

She even reported having injured herself by hand… except this didn't happen during filming, but while eating at a restaurant. Enough to disrupt his training and the progress of the stunts. If you have already been able to watch Furies, what did you think of it?? Don't hesitate to give your opinion in the comments.
