GTA 6: Rockstar Games has excellent news for fans

After literally breaking the Internet at the beginning of December by revealing a first trailer for GTA 6, Rockstar Games is being rather discreet. We certainly know that the game is due to be released in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series

The final phase of development

The studio finally decided to break its silence last night through Jennifer Kolbe, its vice-president. The manager therefore sent an e-mail to several American media editorial offices to inform them of the return of her teams to the office five days a week.

Teleworking is therefore put aside. And while this is probably bad news for some employees, it's for a good cause. The idea in fact of reaching the level of productivity required during the final stretch of the development of GTA 6, estimates Jennifer Kolbe. She underlines:

By making these changes now, we are in the best position to deliver the next Grand Theft Auto with the level of quality and finish we know it demands, as well as a release roadmap that matches the scale and ambition of the game.

However, be careful not to get too excited. This does not mean that the game is ready to be released, as our colleague from Journal du Geek rightly points out. But Rockstar Games seems to be on schedule for the moment, and determined to follow its schedule. The studio is also transparent about its operation and the progress of development, which should reassure GTA fans.

“We seek perfection”

As a reminder, at the beginning of February, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, Strauss Zelnick, made very reassuring remarks to investors. He said: “We seek perfection, and when we feel we have maximized creativity, it's time to come out”.

Regarding the excitement around the title, the CEO was delighted:

Our feeling is that the expectation is much higher – much, much higher. On the other hand, you know, 195 million units sold (he's talking about GTA V Editor's note) to date, that's not to be neglected. We're a long way from making predictions about how the stock will perform, but it's clear that anticipation is very, very high.

All that remains is to realize these expectations and not disappoint the hopes of fans of the franchise.
