We would have preferred not to receive this fateful e-mail and yet… Thus, all French subscribers to Amazon's service will experience advertising breaks of 2 minutes to 3 and a half minutes per hour from April 9. At Prime Video, there is therefore no choice. Unlike Netflix and Disney+, the “Standard” plan of the Amazon service will include advertisements for the same price. In its email, the platform specifies that customers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg are exempt from this new feature.

From now on, Amazon Prime members who do not want to experience advertising breaks during their viewing will have to pay a little more. From April 9, 2024, you will have to pay an additional 1.99 euros per monthfor an ad-free Prime Video experience. It is already possible to pre-order this option now. Thus, being able to enjoy Prime Video without advertising will cost 8.98 euros per month in France.
As in the United States, Prime Video will take the opportunity to remove Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision technologies, currently available on certain programs. In a few weeks, only ad-free Prime Video customers will be able to enjoy Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. However, all Prime members will benefit from the same sound quality as well as improved streaming quality. Including UHD, HDR10 and HDR 10+, where available.
While new price increases are hanging over the noses of Netflix subscribers, users are certainly not delighted with these big changes on the streaming platform side. However, remember that this is only one of the services included in Amazon Prime. This subscription also allows you to benefit from fast and free delivery on many products on Amazon, Amazon Music Prime, Deliveroo Plus free for a year, Amazon Photos, Prime Gaming or even Prime Reading.< /p>
