The Supreme Court announces that it will render its decision this Thursday and will say whether or not it will take up the case of former judge Jacques Delisle, who wishes to have his second trial for the murder of his partner canceled .

After obtaining a second trial following a lengthy judicial review, the&# x27;88-year-old man granted stay of proceedings in 2022 due to destruction of evidence.

The Quebec Court of Appeal, however, overturned this decision, thus putting the trial of the ex-judge, who had been found guilty of the murder of Nicole Rainville, back on track, in 2012.

Jacques Delisle hopes to convince the Supreme Court that stopping the proceedings was the right decision, if the highest court in the country agrees to hear his case, which we will find out on Thursday.

By announcing that he was going to request the intervention of the Court of Justice; appeal, Delisle's lawyer had also engaged in a facilitation process with the DPCP.
