Lyon, first capital of France

French capital of gastronomy, Lyon is also known for having been founded by the capital of Gaul, i.e. "the first capital of France". After Caesar's conquest of Gaul, the future Lyon welcomed a Roman colonyin 43 BC. -C which will quickly develop to the point of becoming the most important city in Gaul. Lugdunum then became a powerful city. and established itself as the capital of Roman Gaul.
