Madame Web: even the star of the Marvel film doubts, disaster in sight ?

Madame Web, this spin-off from the Spider-Man universe, will be released in French cinemas on February 14. We might as well say it straight away, pessimism and distrust dominate with regard to this new Marvel production headed by Sony Pictures. It must be said that the Japanese entertainment giant has already disappointed us in the past, notably with a sadly remembered Morbius.

“I don't know if it's going to be good!”

But what is even more surprising is that the main actress of this new installment, Dakota Johnson, expressed her doubts about participating for the first time in her career in a film that uses so many special effects . In an interview with our colleagues from Entertainment Weekly, she explains:

I've never really made a film where we're in front of a blue screen, where there are fake explosions, where someone says &# 8220;Explosion!” and where we act as if there was an explosion. For me, it was absolutely psychotic. I said to myself: “I don't know if it's going to be good! I hope I did a good job!

A hesitation that does not encourage hardly optimistic, but which has the merit of showing frankness. Madame Webalso arrives at a delicate moment that some experts describe as superhero fatigue. This public weariness with regard to this type of production could well be paid for at the box office, even if we are never safe from a pleasant surprise.

Let us remember that certain actresses in this production were particularly marked by this project. This is particularly the case of Sydney Sweeney, known for the series Euphoria. She recently discussed her role in Madame Web in an interview with Hollywood Reporter. She explained that she “loved the personal struggles the character was going through” even calling her participation the “highlight of her career”.

Madame Webwill follow the story of Cassandra Webb, a Manhattan paramedic who is able to see into the future. Forced to face revelations about her past, she forms a relationship with three young women destined for an extraordinary future. They will have to survive a mortal present.
