A fire rages outside AIM Recyclage in Lévis.

Radio-Canada

A fire started outside the AIM Recyclage company late Saturday afternoon. Firefighters from the Lévis Fire Safety Department fought the flames which had spread to automobile wrecks for several hours on the company's property.

Around 4:30 p.m., around forty firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the fire, rue de Vulcain, in the Pintendre sector. The fire was completely out by 6 p.m.

The Lévis Fire Safety Department has not reported any injuries. There was little damage and in all likelihood, a faulty battery could be the cause of the blaze.

Since the fire released a lot of smoke, the director of the Fire Safety Department, Réjean Pérusse, gave this advice to citizens in the area so that they are not inconvenienced: “If you see smoke , stay in the house and close the windows and air exchangers. » This notice was lifted around 6 p.m.

For the sake of prevention, the Lévis Ecocenter, located near AIM Recyclage , was closed for the day, indicates the City of Lévis.
