Man accused of planning sex acts on children

A 42-year-old man from Bowmanville, Ontario, was arrested THURSDAY. He allegedly planned sexual acts on children with their mother, who lives in the United States. The children are aged two and six, according to police in Durham Region, a suburb of Toronto.

In a press release published Thursday, the police claim to have been informed on Wednesday by the National Center against #x27; child exploitation of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that a man planned sexual acts on children.

The man and woman – the latter lives in Pennsylvania – were discussing their plans on the chat app MeetMe . The app's service provider reported the conversation to police, according to the statement. MeetMe lets people chat with people nearby who share their interests, according to its listing on the Apple App Store.

Police say the man was using the profile name That Guy and planned to meet the woman this weekend and engage in sexual acts with her children. They specify that the woman also shared sexual photos of her daughter with the suspect.

The arrest took place at a home near the intersection of Aspen Springs Drive and Bowmanville Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Thursday .
