Man dies after skiing fall on Mount Avila

A man died following a ski fall Tuesday at Mount Avila , located in Piedmont, in the Laurentians.

This event occurs a few days after a teenager 15-year-old died after falling from a ski lift at a ski resort in Morin-Heights, still in the Laurentians, on Friday.

Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) from the MRC des Pays-d'en-Haut station were called to go to Mont Avila around 10 a.m. Tuesday, regarding a man who had suffered significant injuries to following a fall while skiing.

The victim was taken to the hospital center, where he was pronounced dead.

This is an investigation in assistance to the coroner which has begun, there is no would have no criminal element, said Marc Tessier, spokesperson for the SQ.

An autopsy will be carried out on the victim's body to identify the exact causes of his death.
