The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) carried out an operation to dismantle a production site on Friday in Pierreville in Center-du-Québec; 5,900 plants placed in a field were seized.

Two people were arrested in Pierreville as part of this operation. They are a man and a woman in their forties.

This seizure of plants comes in addition to other operations which began last June.

The SQ recalls that although certain activities related to cannabis are legal, any cannabis plantation without certification or license issued by Health Canada is prohibited.
