78-year-old Timberlea man dies of a fatal collision near Margaree Forks.

RCMP arrived at the scene of the accident around 5 p.m. Friday.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a GMC sport utility vehicle and a Toyota Prius were traveling in opposite directions on Route 19 in Inverness County, Cape Town -Breton.

The police observed the death of the septuagenarian who was a rear passenger in the Prius on site.

The female driver and an adult passenger, both from Halifax County, suffered non-life threatening injuries. p>

The driver of the other vehicle, a 41-year-old woman from Chéticamp, was transported to hospital by emergency services, but his life is not in danger. His three young passengers were not injured.
