Elon Musk's social network it will help pay the legal fees of a Canadian doctor previously reprimanded by authorities for her publications on COVID-19.

In a post Sunday morning on the X News account, the company formerly known as Twitter wrote that it was proud to defend Dr. Kulvinder Kaur Gill against what it called the ongoing efforts by the government to cancel his speech.

In 2021, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario implemented Brampton, Ont., pediatrician guards over her tweets, including one saying COVID-19 vaccination wasn't necessary.

Doctor leads crowdfunding campaign asking for $300,000 to help cover costs including a costs order relating to the lawsuit she brought against what she called a malicious online smear campaign.

Ms. Gill posted an X message saying that Mr. Musk was committed to paying the remainder of her crowdfunding campaign and ;#x27;help appeal College warnings from 2021.
