The Boys: why season 4 will be totally crazy

© Amazon Prime Video

This time, that's it, a first trailer for season 4 of The Boys was presented on the occasion of the Sao Paulo Comic Con in Brazil. The least we can say is that the series continues its momentum before its release scheduled for 2024.

A charismatic villain

Amazon Prime Video took the opportunity to reveal the official synopsis of this sequel:

In the fourth season, the world is on the brink of collapse. Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscular thumb of Homelander, who consolidates his power. Butcher (Karl Urban), who has only a few months to live, has lost Becca's (Shantel VanSanten) son and his position as leader of the Boys. The rest of the team has had enough of his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they must find a way to work together and save the world before it's too late.

The mention of Victoria Neuman owes nothing to chance. This villain showed color in the previous season, and this ambivalent character, who mixes progressive elements in terms of her public persona, while resorting to ultraviolence in secret, has something to intrigue us.

Big Stakes

In the past, Eric Kripke, the creator of the series, has already mentioned “ apocalyptic issues ” for this season 4. And for good reason, while Starlight will probably join the Boys, Billy Butcher knows that his days are numbered after he consumed Compound-V. We can hope for a rapprochement with Homelander's son. In any case, it would be better not to cross his path.

Aspects always so WTF

The Boys is known for shocking and amusing, with deeply impactful trashy scenes. Production clearly does not intend to stop there. Anthony Starr, who plays Homelander, has already warned us by explaining that season 4 contains “the weirdest thing” he ever did.

He added: “There must be a limit, but we can’t find it. I looked at the person in front of me and said to myself, “What are we doing? I can’t believe it! I could have done anything else with my life, but here I am doing this…” »

What do you think of these first images of season 4, and are you, like us, impatient to see what happens next?? Let us know in the comments.
