Will 2024 be the year of the electric car? While EV sales reached records in France last year, manufacturers announced highly anticipated models that we must follow closely this year.

The revival of the legendary “R5” is probably the model that will most intrigue electric car fans this year. While Renault already offers a skip-the-line pass aimed at being able to order the car before everyone else, the 100% electric car called Renault 5 E-Tech is one of the very few city cars that will be available in 2024. It will replace the current ZOE from the French brand, which has obviously had its day with its ugly appearance and its excessive price.

Of course, apart from its successful design, it is the price which is the most attractive side of this new R5. According to Renault's announcements, it will be on sale for around 25,000 euros. We must not forget that it should be able to benefit from the new ecological bonus implemented in 2024, which should make it one of the favorite models of the French in the years to come.

Citroën ë-C3

The big challenger against Renault's R5, Stellantis through Citroën which will offer its ë-C3. An excellent proposition on paper, with its 113 horsepower, its 320 kilometers of autonomy and its contained size, it should arrive in the second half of the year.

Of course, the point The highlight of this ë-C3 is its price, 23 300 euros for the basic finish, or 27 800 euros for the premium finish. Knowing that it is eligible for the new ecological bonus, its price of 18 300 euros with bonus included will make the ë-C3 a real must-have.

Peugeot e-3008

Peugeot is not staying behind and is also offering its big novelty for 2024 with the Peugeot e-3008. We know how popular the 3008 thermal vehicle is among the French, this 100% electric version should intrigue more than one. With a power of 210 horsepower with a 73 kWh battery, the SUV is announced with 525 kilometers of autonomy.

Made in France, the government announced that the electric vehicle would be eligible for the ecological bonus. If we do not yet know its price, we can already be certain that it will be less than 47,000 euros, a condition of eligibility for the ecological bonus.

Volvo EX30

The Swedish brand will offer something in between with an urban SUV. With its minimalist design, the Volvo EX30 offers two versions of its 100% electric vehicle with 272 horsepower for the first, and 428 horsepower for the second. Its 49 kWh or 64 kWh batteries depending on the version provide a range of 344 kilometers or 460 kilometers.

It promises a 27-minute charge from 10 to 80% on a fast terminal. If Volvo's 100% electric vehicle tempts you, it will still be penalized by the fact that it is not eligible for the ecological bonus, and will be sold at a price of 37,500 euros in its version. base.

Sports models

Even if these high-priced models will obviously not be present on the roads of France, the fact remains that these 100% electric vehicles will prove that EVs can make people dream just as much as thermal vehicles.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N

The sporty version of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 arrives in 2024. With its 650 hairs and its 770 Nm of torque, the Ioniq N promises to offer decidedly fun and sporty driving sensations.

Given that the base model is already relatively expensive, you can imagine that the price of the N model will be even higher for this sports car which will be available in the first quarter of the year. It will cost 78,000 euros to afford the Korean electric car, which obviously does not benefit from the ecological bonus.

Porsche Macan EV

The German brand is launching its second 100% electric model with the Porsche Macan EV. Worthy of Porsche's history, it will offer 612 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque, for 0 to 100 in just 3.7 seconds. Given the weight of the beast, you need a 100 kWh battery to carry it, with an expected 500 km of autonomy.

Despite the massive size of this battery, the 10 to 80% charge will be done in just 22 minutes on a fast charging terminal. For the moment, the release date is set for 2024, without further details on its price. Rumors still suggest a price close to the thermal version, which is currently 72,000 euros.

MG Cyberster

If MG is used to producing rather mainstream vehicles, the brand does not forget its origins by offering the release this year of the Cyberster. An exceptional convertible roadster with a hyper sports car look, which will make many EV fans drool. With 314 hairs in its basic version, it is also possible to obtain the most powerful version of 544 horsepower.

With a 64 kWh battery, we can expect 430 kilometers of range. It is with certainty that we know that this Cyberster will not be able to receive the ecological bonus, given that MG has not sent a file to Ademe concerning these models built in China. French prices are not yet known, but the Chinese will be able to obtain the basic model for the equivalent of 41,000 euros. There is very little chance of the price being equivalent in France, where you will have to consider yourself lucky if it is around 50,000 euros.
