Two women died and another was seriously injured in a knife attack perpetrated in a residential building on rue Émile-Bouchard, in Vaudreuil-Dorion, in Montérégie.

The tragedy led to a major police operation. Police officers from the MRC de Vaudreuil-Soulange Est were called around 12 p.m. to the building located in a developing area.

The police on scene discovered three victims. Two of them unfortunately died at the scene. We are talking about two adult women, said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Catherine Bernard.

A third woman was transported to a hospital center where there is currently fear for her life, added the agent.

A 44-year-old suspect has been arrested. The man is known to the police, according to the spokesperson. He also had to be transported to a hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening. Obviously, he will be met by our investigators.
