Police in Longueuil on the South Shore of Montreal are investigating two deaths that could be linked to Ontarian Kenneth Law. The latter already faces 14 counts of premeditated murder in Ontario for assisting suicide.
The 58-year-old accused operated, according to the police, multiple websites selling nitrite sodium to suicidal people around the world.
This substance serves as a preservative for food and is legal, but it can be lethal in high doses.
François Boucher, spokesperson for the Longueuil police, tells CBC by email that the police force has three files linked to Kenneth Law. Of these three files, two people died, he said.
Mr. Boucher did not specify the age of the victims or the date of their death.

Kenneth Law's attorney says his client will plead not guilty to all 14 counts of first-degree murder filed against him in Ontario.
In addition to these charges, he is the subject of ' ;investigations in other provinces and in several countries around the world, including the United Kingdom.
Last September, the Montreal police announced the opening of an investigation on Kenneth Law, but did not specify whether there were any casualties.
