Since last week, the Swedish series, An Almost Normal Family, has made everyone agree on Netflix. This thrilling police thriller keeps spectators around the world in suspense, and it is the most viewed original creation in France according to the specialist site Flixpatrol. We tell you everything you need to know about this production.

What is it about?

Netflix has revealed the official synopsis of this series adapted from the novel of the same name by Mattias Edvardsson:

The Sandells live a quiet life in a wealthy suburb. Ulrika is a busy lawyer, Adam is a priest and their daughter, Stella, works in a bakery. Everything seems to be status quo – until Stella is accused of murdering the man she was dating who was killed after a night out. Stella is now in custody and her parents are trying to keep it together during the trial. They want to help Stella at all costs, but what do they really know about their daughter – or one of the other?

Very clearly, we are dealing here with a thriller formatted in the good sense of the term. From the outset, the viewer becomes attached to the characters. We try to understand their different logics and points of view without really judging them. In this, An almost normal familyjoins the tradition of Swedish thrillers, we think in particular of the Millenium saga created by Stieg Larsson. The subjects covered are very mature, so much so that this production is not recommended for those under 16.

A cast without big names

Don't look for Hollywood stars in this cast. If no big name known internationally is present, that does not prevent them from holding their place. We thus find: Lo Kauppi (Modus), Björn Bengtsson (The Last Kingdom), Håkan Bengtsson (I am Zlatan), Melisa Ferhatovic (La Tormenta Sueca), Christian Fandango Sundgren (Barracuda Queens em>), or Eva Westerling (Bonus Family).

Very positive feedback

Overall, the public feedback is very good for this series. It thus obtains a score of 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 3.3 stars out of 5 on Allociné.

Our colleague Jonathon Wilson of Ready Steady Cut summarizes wonderfully the feelings of the spectators: “This production will not win any prizes. But truth be told, he doesn't need it, since this is exactly the kind of binge-watching weekend he claims to be and didn't have. not the ambition to be something else.”

Have you already been able to view this original creation, and if so, what did you think of it? ;? Tell us in the comments.
