The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) confirmed Thursday afternoon that a 55-year-old man, whose body was found lifeless in a home in the area of ​​the Museum of Fine Arts from Montreal, was the victim of murder.

The SPVM was already treating the case as a suspicious death since the body bore marks of violence.

Police and ambulance services went to this property on Avenue du Musée, north of Rue Sherbrooke Ouest, after the 911 center received a call at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning. The man was pronounced dead on site.

A security perimeter was set up and forensic identification technicians attended places. Investigators collected testimonies and checked for the presence of surveillance cameras in the neighborhood.

The investigation is still ongoing and there are no suspects has not been arrested at this time.
