However, according to a paper published in the journal Nature, this process is not, as we thought, irreversible. Researchers have indeed discovered that it is enough to completely empty a solid state cell and let it rest for a few hours to return everything to normal, restoring the battery's capacity to 100%.
A behavior which can a priori be managed by a simple software adaptation of the battery controller. Since electric car batteries consist of around 4,000 cells, it is relatively trivial to organize the “reset” progressive of all cells without user intervention.
Which therefore authorizes SEI technology to take a new step with a view to revolutionizing the&# 8217;autonomy, lifespan and recharging of electric cars.
